Full Description

Upon arrival at “Ciénega de la Virgen”, a beautiful lagoon filled with wildlife, you’ll embark on this unforgettable adventure in a stable canoe where you’ll participate in the local art of crabbing, net fishing, and bird-watching. An experienced guide will teach you how to bait and set crab traps, throw a cast net, and search for edible snails using your feet.

During this journey, you can make an optional pitstop at a remote island where you’ll find some rustic drums, meet a friendly raccoon, and view a small fish farm. The cost to visit the island is 10,000 pesos per person (about $2.50 USD).

When you arrive back at the starting point, your guide will bring you to a nearby beachfront restaurant where you’ll be served a full lunch with your choice of whole-fried fish or grilled chicken, along with soup, salad, fried plantains, coconut rice, and a beverage of your choice. A vegetarian option is also available.

In addition, the restaurant will cook and serve the crabs you caught, and you can even help in the kitchen if you want to participate in the full experience!

Round-trip transportation from within the tourist zone is included with this tour.

Non-Spanish-speaking tourists are encouraged to add the optional English translator.
